Who we are?

Laya Healthcare Limited is a private company registered in Ireland under company number 242048. Laya healthcare and laya life are trading names of Laya Healthcare Limited.
Our address is: Eastgate Road, Eastgate Business Park, Little Island, Co. Cork, T45 E181.

Laya healthcare is part of the AXA Group, a worldwide leader in insurance and asset management, with 145,000 employees serving 93 million clients in 51 countries.

Laya Healthcare Limited, trading as laya life, operates as a tied agent in respect of life insurance for iptiQ Life SA (incorporated in Luxembourg).
Laya Healthcare Limited, trading as laya healthcare, operates as an agent in respect of health insurance for AXA Insurance dac.
Laya Healthcare Limited also acts as an intermediary for travel insurance products underwritten by AIG Europe S.A. (incorporated in Luxembourg).

Laya Healthcare Limited is paid:

  • An initial commission of 220% of the total first‑year premium
  • A monthly commission of 3.7% of each monthly premium paid
    from iptiQ Life SA in respect of all business generated.

Data Protection

 

Laya life and iptiQ Life S.A. act as independent data controllers in relation to information held about you for the purposes of the Data Protection Acts. You should show this notice to anyone who may be covered by your insurance policy with laya life.

iptiQ Life S.A., part of the Swiss Re Group, is the insurer and underwriter of your plan.

Your information will be used to:

  • Manage and administer your insurance policy
  • Underwrite and handle claims
  • Prevent, detect and investigate financial crime (including fraud)

A soft credit check may be used to verify your address.

Your information may be held by:

  • Laya life
  • iptiQ Life S.A.
  • Their agents or subcontractors

Beyond routine administration, we may also use your data to:

  • Gauge your satisfaction with our service (for up to 12 months after your membership ends)
  • Perform market research (also for up to 12 months after your membership ends)

Calls may be recorded and monitored for customer service purposes.

We may need to collect sensitive information (e.g., medical conditions). Laya life, iptiQ Life S.A., or authorised agents may obtain medical reports or contact medical practitioners. Medical information is kept strictly confidential.
Anonymised data (non‑identifiable) may be used for research or statistical purposes.

Access to non‑medical information may be granted confidentially for purposes such as audits or service improvements.

iptiQ Life S.A. may share your information with:

  • Companies within the Swiss Re Group
  • Organisations involved in preventing or investigating fraud or financial crime
  • Approved service providers, including policy administrators
  • Relevant legal and regulatory authorities

Key outsourced service providers include:

  • Amazon Web Services

Laya life employs appropriate technical and physical security measures and reviews these regularly.

We will retain and process your personal information for the duration of your policy plus ten years, in line with legal and regulatory requirements.

Laya life may contact you about products and services (postal mail, email, SMS) where there is a regulatory requirement to ensure your cover is appropriate.

You have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your data.

How we charge?

 

Payments are taken from your bank account either monthly or annually.
Refer to your Membership Certificate for confirmation of your payment frequency.

 

 

 

Who regulates us?

 

Laya Healthcare Limited is authorised by the Central Bank of Ireland.

We are subject to:

  • Consumer Protection Code under the Central Bank (Supervision and Enforcement) Act 2013 (Section 48) (Consumer Protection) Regulations 2025
  • Central Bank Reform Act 2010 (Section 17A) (Standards for Business) Regulations 2025
  • Minimum Competency Code 2017

Laya healthcare is registered as an insurance, reinsurance, or ancillary insurance intermediary under the European Union (Insurance Distribution) Regulations 2018.

 

 

Conflicts of interest

 

We maintain appropriate administrative structures to prevent conflicts of interest where possible.
If we believe a conflict exists, we will advise you.
If you feel your interests have not been fairly protected, please contact us so we may resolve the issue.

 

 

What happens if I do not pay the premium?

 

If a payment due to us is missed, your policy may be cancelled.
Refer to your Rules Booklet for full details.
We may use our legal rights to claim any payments owed for services already provided.

If you are unhappy with our service, please contact our team so we can attempt to resolve your concerns.
